India, Pakistan have no alternatives to dialogue to resolve issues: Dr. Farooq Abdullah

National Conference President and MP Dr. Farooq Abdullah on Saturday said till India and Pakistan will not restore dialogue process things will remain unchanged and cosmetic measures will yield no results on ground.

He said both India and Pakistan should come forward with “sincere heart” as dialogue is the only way forward to resolve issues amicably.

“I want to clear that there has been a lot of charade till date. The cosmetic measures will yield zero results. Till India and Pakistan will not come close and sit together to resolve issues amicably, things are not going to change,” Dr. Farooq Abdullah as per KNS told reporters while attending a condolence meeting in Srinagar.

When asked government is thrusting keenly upon strengthening border tourism in Kashmir valley, Dr. Farooq said there has been enough pageant on peace, development and tourism. “Today militancy is still existent. Our forces personnel and civilians are being killed by bullets. So if there is peace why such activities are taking place?” he questioned.

Without naming anyone, Dr. Farooq said “Who will make them understand that problems are resolved through dialogue as war is not the solution”.

“You can see what happened in Ukraine. War is not the solution. The people of Ukraine are economically destroyed. They are being killed. We should note it that borders cannot be changed,” he added.

Dr. Farooq said if you (India) are talking with China why should you run away from Pakistan. There is a need to explore ways and engage people on table.
