Following a specific input about Militant movement, the Government Forces jointly launched a cordon and search operation in the Onangam area of North Kashmir’s Bandipora District.
Late night on Thursday, the forces including 27 RR of Indian Army and Jammu Kashmir police sealed all the entry and exit points to the Onangam area.
Locals told The Kashmiriyat that a heavy contingent of forces reached this Bandipora locality and are conducting a search operation in the area.
Youth in large numbers hit the streets as soon as troops launched a joint operation, Shouting Pro Independence and Pro Militancy slogans, the youth hit the streets throwing stones on Government Forces.
The troops fired tear smoke shells to disperse the protesting, locals told The Kashmiriyat.
