“For God’s sake, Please come back. Have pity on your family, on your mother. Remember how I nursed you? Why don’t you remember my sufferings? I will do anything for you. Come back, my son, come back Burhan,” the mother of a youth who has joined Militancy from Islamabad township of South Kashmir appealed.
The distraught mother from SK Colony of South Kashmir’s Islamabad township has come out with video message urging her militant son to return home, hoping for a reunion with her son Burhan Ahmed Ganie whose photo with an AK 47 has gone viral.
In her message, mother of Burhan Ahmad Ganie, has asked her son to come back home at the earliest.
The Growing Militancy has been a ground reality in Kashmir and the southern part has been the most hit, figures available reveal that more than 80 local youth have joined Militancy in the first six months of 2018.
Despite intensified Anti Insurgency Operations, Militant recruitment has been growing, in fact the Jammu Kashmir Police has revealed that at least 240 Militants are active in the region while the remaining are mostly operational in the southern part of Kashmir, which has seen a huge surge in Militant recruitment since the killing of Burhan Wani on 08 July, 2016.
This year, Ph.D Scholar Manan wani, Professor Mohammed Rafi Bhat and an M.Phil Scholar, Zubair Ahmed have joined the Militant ranks while another PH.D Sabzar Ahmed of Sangam area joined the Militant ranks the last year.
”My brother was soft hearted, he went out post which we were unable to find him, We tried to ring him up constantly, but to no avail,” his sister told The Kashmiriyat.
She said that Burhan had completed his bachelors in Physiotherapy from Sher e Kashmir institute of Medical Science and from July he would have started his internship
The family told The Kashmiriyat that Burhan was the leading scorer in his selection test of the Bachelors in Physiotherapy course.
“Who will take your mother to the hospital now?” His father while appealing his son asked.
His sister told The Kashmiriyat that he was the sole hope for the family as a family of 7 members is living on her father’s pension money, Ghulam Mohammed Sadiq is a retired Zonal Education Officer.
“I did not expect that my son would ever join Militancy, he left home after which we filed a missing report at the nearest police station,” his father said.
He said that he was informed by some relatives that Burhan, his son, has joined Militant ranks. “The News came as a shock to the entire family,” he said.

A Photo of Burhan Claiming that he has joined the Militant outfit Hizb ul Mujahideen has gone viral over Social networking.
According to an official figure, 220 Militants were active in the Kashmir valley at the beginning of 2017 and at least 220 Militants were killed in the year after Government Forces announced ‘Operation All out’, but the increase in the numbers of killings and active Militants despite that shows a dangerous trend and indicates that there is no quick end to the dispute in Jammu Kashmir.
The killings of the top commanders since the last year’s operation All out include the killings of top commanders of Militancy including Abu Dujana, Bashir Lashkar, Majid Zarger, Mohammed Yasin Itoo, Saddam Padder, Ayub Lelhari, Junaid Matoo, Sameer Tiger, Shakoor Dar, Sabzar Bhat and many others.
A top official of Indian Army had told The Kashmiriyat that they are going after the Commanders because they want the recruitment to come down, however it is visible that the action is not producing the desired results.
Burhan who has three sisters and another brother is suffering from a neurological disorder and is on medication. “He is partly disabled as his left hand does not function properly,” his father Ghulam Mohammed Sadiq told The Kashmiriyat. We appeal the higher Police officials to help them find their son, his father said.
“Let him live peacefully, we request one and all to let him return home,” his sister pleaded.
Jammu Kashmir’s top cop SP Vaid has been asking youth to shun Militancy and has said that id police will to take a lenient view of militants looking to give up violence.
On November 16 last year, a popular footballer, Majid Khan, who had joined Lashkar-e-Taiba, came back to his family following his mother’s tearful appeal in a video.
Ashiq Hussain Bhat, a Shopian trader, turned down his parents’ request. The family had told media persons he called the family to say he had chosen the best path and would prefer martyrdom to surrender.
