Kashmiri entrepreneur to join GLOMO Awards jury at Barcelona in 2025

Faisal Kawoosa, a prominent entrepreneur and technology expert from Srinagar, has achieved a remarkable milestone by becoming the first Kashmiri to serve as a judge for the prestigious Global Mobile (GLOMO) Awards 2025.

Organized by the GSM Association, the GLOMO Awards celebrate innovation and excellence in the mobile and digital technology sector and are a highlight of the annual Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona, which attracts over 100,000 participants from around the globe.

Kawoosa’s journey is a testament to determination and innovation. Born and raised in Srinagar, he displayed academic excellence early on, securing a state rank in commerce in 1998 after studying at CMS Tyndale Biscoe.

He later joined the first BBA batch at Islamia College and completed an MBA at Kashmir University.

His fascination with technology and a passion for data-driven analysis eventually shaped his career in the tech industry.

In 2005, Kawoosa began working with globally recognized technology market analysis firms, where he built a solid reputation over 13 years. His entrepreneurial spirit led him to establish Techarc in 2018, a company specializing in market research and analytics in the technology sector.

Expanding its reach in 2023, Techarc now operates from both Gurgaon and Srinagar, with his wife and co-founder, Dr. Shahana Qutab, playing a pivotal role in the company’s growth.

Kawoosa has also been a key figure in fostering a sustainable digital ecosystem in Jammu and Kashmir, founding a digital advocacy forum in the region.

He has been actively consulting startups and incubators across India since 2012, helping shape the next generation of technology ventures.

As one of the 200 independent judges for this year’s GLOMO Awards, Kawoosa will evaluate entries across 33 categories.
