Kashmiri Journalist Alleges Being Assaulted by Forces in Anantnag

A Kashmiri journalist was allegedly assaulted by Jammu Kashmir police personnel in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Saturday evening.

The journalist, Aakash Hassan, said that he was physically assaulted by police personnel while he was on his way to his home in Anantnag from Srinagar.

Aakash took to his Twitter handle and wrote: “I was just beaten up by JKP cops at Sangam while I was on way home and they were cleaning traffic. A sub inspector named Zahid and his one PSO came in front of my car and slapped and beat me up by batons—and the barrage of abuses.”
