Kashmiri political parties condemn Srinagar killings in unified voice

In a unified voice against violence, leaders from various political parties in Jammu and Kashmir have strongly condemned the recent attack on non-locals in Srinagar.

Expressing shock and disgust, leaders from the Jammu Kashmir National Conference (JKNC) including President Dr. Farooq Abdullah and Vice President Omar Abdullah, along with other prominent figures from parties such as the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), People’s Conference, and CPI (M), have denounced the killings that claimed the life of two civilians.

Jammu Kashmir National Conference leaders Farooq Abdullah and Omar Abdullah condemned the attack on the non-locals.

“JKNC President Dr Farooq Abdullah and VP Omar Abdullah are shocked and disgusted by the barbaric incident that took the life of Amrit Pal Singh in Shala Kadal, Srinagar. Their heartfelt condolences go out to his family,” the party said in a social media post.

“Violence should have no place in our society and such acts of barbarity only serve to hinder the progress & peace we strive for,” the post added.

Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) condemned the “dastardly attack” and prayed for swift recovery of the injured person.

People’s Conference leader Sajad Lone also condemned the attack.

CPI (M) leader and former Kulgam legislator, Muhammad Yousuf Tarigami condemned the attack and expressed condolences to the bereaved family.

“Condemning in no uncertain terms the despicable attack which left a non-local man dead and caused injuries to another in Srinagar. Such barbaric attacks on innocent civilians are reprehensible and absolutely devoid of humanity. Deepest condolences to his family !,” Tarigami said in a post on X.

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) expressed deep sorrow and condemned what it termed as the cowardly and shameful act of terrorism.

Senior BJP leader, Manzoor Bhat vehemently denounced the act, labeling it as a clear manifestation of terrorist frustration aimed at disrupting the peaceful environment and developmental progress in Kashmir.
