Kashmiri shawl seller goes missing from Ludhiana

A Kashmiri shawl seller has been missing from the north Indian state of Punjab since 30 December, causing panic among his family members.

Speaking to The Kashmiriyat, a family member of the missing youth said that Aijaz Ahmed Naik son of Mohammed Maqbool Naik, who is a resident of Czimmer in Kulgam has been missing since 30 December.

“The last time he called home was from Ludhiana. He said that he needed money after which his phone got switched off,” the family member said.

He said that post the call at around 12 noon from Ludhiana, Aijaz had not contacted them since. “His mobile got switched off and there is no update about him,” he said.

He said that Aijaz had said that he was traveling to Dehradun and he required money for the travel.

Earlier, The Kashmiriyat reported that Yasir Ahmad Shah, who is a resident of the Aishmuqam area in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district who went to Lucknow in November 2022 to sell shawls and other warm clothes had gone missing.
