After Friday congregational Kashmiri Shia scholars collectively lashed out at Lucknow based Bhartiya Janta party supporter Waseem Rizvi against his derogatory remarks on holy Quran.

The condemnations from Shia clerics of Kashmir splashed across Social media against the interview of Waseem Rizvi with India Today that went viral on different social media handles.

In a six-minute video, Rizvi is heard saying that 26 verses of Quran should be removed as these verses allegedly promote terrorism. “I am not against the Quran, but there are some verses which have been added after the Prophet, such verses need to be removed,” He said.

“Now I am going to Court to file the petition against these verses which are a threat to the humanity, ” He added.

Prominent Shia cleric of Kashmir, and President of Anjuman Shaire – Shiyan Aga Syed Mohammed Hadi told The Kashmiriyat that it is his personal belief and he is not the representative of Shias school of thought.

“Muslims are fully aware about of his ill-designs, and his remarks are baseless and have nothing to do with any sect,” he added.

President of Itehadul Muslimeen Masroor Abass Ansari tweeted, “We strongly condemn the recent statement of Wasim Rizvi of Lucknow, against the Holy Book Quran. This man has become a tool of conspiracies of the enemies against Islam and Shiaism. Indian Muslims have already kicked him out of their midst and he has been excommunicated from Islam”.

Waseem Rizvi has always been controversial and has been a tumbling blot among Shias and Sunnis. And it’s pertinent to mention here, he is ardent supporter Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Bhartiya Janta Party.
