Kashmiri Sikh social activist Angad Singh Khalsa has strongly condemned the recent attack in Pahalgam, terming it “an act against humanity” and “an assault on the very identity of every Kashmiri.”
“Violence and extremism have devastated entire communities,” Khalsa said. “It is time we understand this painful reality and stand firmly against every act that targets humanity.”
Calling the Pahalgam attack an attack on all Kashmiris, Khalsa urged people across the valley to rise above differences and condemn the incident in strong and clear terms. “Tourism is the backbone of Kashmir’s economy. Attacking a tourist is like snatching food from the hands of our own people,” he said. “Those behind such acts are the biggest enemies of Kashmiris, and indeed, the biggest enemies of humanity.”
Reflecting on Kashmir’s long history of violence, Khalsa said, “Our generations have suffered exploitation and trauma. Today, the worst political conditions we are facing are the direct result of this cycle of violence.”
He urged every Kashmiri to respond actively. “If you hold a pen, write against this brutality. If you have a voice on social media, use it. If you can step onto the streets, protest. In every way possible, we must reject bloodshed and violence.”
Khalsa warned that such attacks would only lead to further misery for society as a whole. “The loss of a human life is the greatest loss for any nation — politically, socially, and religiously,” he said. “We must unite and raise our voices against violence to safeguard our future.”
