Jammu Kashmir student assaulted at AMU, admitted to ICU

A student from Mendhar area in Jammu Kashmir’s Poonch was critically wounded after being hit on his head at Aligarh Muslim University (AMU).

A student of the Aligarh Muslim University confirming the development to The Kashmiriyat said that a student identified as Sajid Hussian pursuing B Tech was playing hit with a cricket bat during a match by his classmate Shobit Singh.

Nadeem sustained critical injuries during the altercation and had to be shifted to the nearby hospital for treatment, he said.

His friends took him to the hospital where the doctors after several tests said that Sajid has suffered internal bleeding and had a fracture in the brain skull. “right now, Sajid is admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU),” the AMU student told The Kashmiriyat.

The accused who is a resident of Uttar Pradesh stays in the same residential hall (Nadeem Tarin Hall) as Sajid.

An FIR 602 /2022, under Sections 504 and 307 of IPC has been registered in the concerned Police station after which the accused was shifted to the jail.
