To help the women in distress such as facing harassment or any kind of abuse or violence, Police in Kulgam have inaugurated Women Help Desk at Police Station Kulgam.
SSP Kulgam Dr. G. V. Sundeep IPS inaugurated the Women Help Desk at Police Station Kulgam. He was accompanied by DYSP DAR, DYSP HQ, SHO Kulgam, and other officers of the district.
The help desk is aimed to respond to all such calls made by women who are victims of domestic violence. The growing incidents of domestic violence arising between married couples in the valley demand an immediate redressal mechanism.
As the idea is to provide a prompt and reliable response mechanism to all the reports and information of domestic violence and offenses against women, a 24×7 help desk has been kept at disposal of the women of the district.
SSP Kulgam while speaking on the occasion said that Police is committed to ensure peace in the society and to end the menace of domestic violence from the district.
