The deteriorated condition of the footpath stretching from Chawalagam to Laroo bus stand area is a matter of grave concern, causing significant inconvenience to the public, especially during the rainy season when using the footpath becomes perilous.
Pedestrians, particularly senior citizens and disabled individuals, frequently trip over the damaged tiles along this section of the main town of Kulgam, posing a serious risk of accidents in the near future.
The locals told The Kashmiriyat that disabled individuals and senior citizens encounter substantial difficulties while navigating the sidewalk.
On one hand, the mentioned footpath is in disrepair, with unstable tiles and uneven surfaces, and on the other hand, a significant portion of the pavement remains obstructed by goods stacked by shopkeepers.
Meanwhile, the residents have urged the Deputy Commissioner of Kulgam to step in and promptly address this issue.
