A leopard was found dead in the Kokernag area of south Kashmir’s Anantnag district, officials told GNS on Tuesday.
They told GNS some villagers noticed the carcass of a full-grown leopard lying in the bushes of Kogamnard Soafshali forest area of Kokernag and informed concerned officials. Later a team of officials reached the spot and took the body.
When contacted, an official of the concerned department told GNS that it seems that the leopard had a natural death.
However, he said experts of the forensic laboratory have taken the samples from the carcass and the report will confirm the cause of the death. (GNS)
