“Let Us Bury the Past and Move Forward”- Pakistan Army Chief Tells India

Pakistan’s army chief General, Qamar Javed Bajwa, as per media reports has asked India “to bury the past and move forward”.

The comment came a day after the Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan urged New Delhi to move toward peace by resolving issues around the Kashmir region.

“We are ready to improve our environment by resolving all our outstanding issues with our neighbors through a proper dialogue,” the army chief said.

“But for the resumption of the peace process or a meaningful dialogue, India will have to create a conducive environment, particularly in Kashmir.”

“We have learned from the past to evolve and are willing to move ahead toward a new future,” Bajwa said. “However, all this is contingent upon reciprocity.”
