Lieutenant Governor asks People of Jammu Kashmir to Follow Guidelines for Covid

The Lieutenant Governor, G.C Murmu has asked people to strictly follow the guidelines issued to prevent the rapid growing corona infection in the state.

In a video message released on Sunday, he said that initially the epidemic was controlled during the two-month lockdown during the Covid-19, but the number of infected cases rose rapidly within 15 days of the lockdown opening.

“There are several hot spots in the Kashmir Valley where the threat still persists. Saving people lives is of paramount importance at this critical time,” the lieutenant Governor said.

249 people have lost their lives in the state so far. The highest number of 701 new cases was reported on Sunday. In this, hundred cases were reported from Jammu division and 601 from Kashmir.

Srinagar district has the highest number of 290 new cases.

On the other hand 646 patients went home after recovering, 27 from Jammu division and 619 from Kashmir division.

Corona is taking a terrible toll in Jammu Kashmir. So far 13900 people have been affected by the virus, out of which 7811 patients have also recovered.
