Electricity snap down in the main town of south Kashmir’s Kulgam town has anguished the residents.
Locals told The Kashmiriyat that as soon as they woke up for Sehri they found that there was no electricity in the main town of Kulgam.
They said that they had to rely upon candles to be able to have food at the time of Sehri on the second day of Ramadhan.
“Electricity is a must during the Sehri time, however, it is unfortunate that despite paying hefty bills, the electricity supply to our area was cut,” a local resident said.
He said that the absence of electricity forced the local residents to use candles and other lights to have Sehri.
The Locals appealed the district magistrate to intervene and prioritise electricity supply to all the areas especially during the iftar and Sehri timings on priority.
