Angry Civilians on Tuesday morning broke the window panes of the hospital and vandalized the property inside the Government hospital, after a pregnant lady died allegedly of medical negligence in the Maternity and childcare hospital of Anantnag.
Speaking to The Kashmiriyat, the relatives of the lady said that a doctor posted in the hospital did not treat her saying, “She is faking pain, she is alright eventually she passed away on Tuesday morning.”
They said that the lady Rozy Jan, a resident of Gadhanzpora in Bijbehara area of Islamabad (Anantnag) district was admitted to the hospital with labour pain a couple of days ago, and she delivered inside the hospital in Sherbagh, they said that the Doctor on duty refused to treat the pregnant lady after she suddenly started witnessing pain.
“She is alright, nothing has happened to her, she is just faking pain,”the doctor allegedly told the attendants of the pregnant lady. The family members said that Rozy jan, the deceased could have been saved, but it was only due to medical negligence that more people are dying in the hospital. ‘She passed away around 5 Am on Tuesday morning,” a relative of the deceased woman told The Kashmiriyat.
The incident angered the locals who later barged inside the hospital premises and resorted to vandalism inside the hospital. “They broke window panes and vandalized the hospital property,” a hospital official said, adding that a few from the medical staff have been injured.
Pertinently this is not the first allegation of medical negligence in the hospital, earlier The Kashmiriyat has reported several cases of medical negligence inside the hospital.
