Prices of Domestic Gas Cylinder Hiked by 25 Rupees for the Fourth Time in a Month

On Monday, once again the national oil marketing companies have increased the prices of LPG (Liquefied Petroleum Gas) refill by Rs 25 each. Within a month, this is the fourth time when the prices are hiked.

On Thursday 25 , the oil marketing companies hiked the prices of domestic gas cylinder (14.2 kg) by Rs. 25 per cylinder. This was the third hike in February.
In February, the prices were hiked on 4 and 14 for cooking gas cylinders.

From March 1, the new rates of LPG refill will be effective.

Since February, this is the fourth hike and from December last year, this is the sixth time when prices are rapidly increasing.

In five days, it is the second hike in the prices of cooking gas refill.

In Delhi, the cylinder will now cost Rs 819 (from Rs 794), in Kolkata, Rs 845 ( from Rs 820), in Mumbai Rs 819 ( from Rs 794) and in Chennai Rs 835 (from Rs 810) while in Hyderabad, it is Rs 871.50 ( from Rs 846.50) for the refill. This is for the domestic cylinder.

From Tuesday, the price of a 19kg commercial cylinder has been raised by Rs 95, and it will now cost Rs 1,614 in Delhi while in Hyderabad, the price increased by Rs 103 for the commercial cylinder, taking the cost to Rs 1,773.

The prices of fuels and LPG gas cylinders has been rising as the oil producing nations have restricted the supplies.

Recently Union Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas Dharmendra Pradhan was quoted by various media houses as saying that fuel prices were expected to moderate by the end of winter.

However, there is continuous increasing in the prices of both fuels and LPG.

While opposition parties have blamed the government for the increase and has been protesting for the reduction of prices and amendments in GST.
