A Nagpur-based businessman, Pyare Khan, who runs a transport business has brought about 32 tonnes of oxygen for once crore rupees and supplied it to Government Medical College, Nagpur for the treatment of Covid patients. Pyare Khan is the owner of Amshi Transport.
As India is battling the deadly pandemic, reports of lack of oxygen, beds and other basic facilities have emerged from all over the country.
Pyare Khan had sent a tanker carrying 16 tonnes of oxygen from Bhilai, Chattisgarh to the college, last week. And has sent another now with the same amount of oxygen.
The Muslim community has come forward to the forefront in this fight with the deadly pandemic and has helped the citizens in their capacities.
According to a report by the Muslim Mirror, Pyare Khan said, “lt is painful to see our people are dying due to shortage of oxygen. Alhamdulillah, I have the resources and made use of them and provided 2 tankers of oxygen-containing 16 tonnes each to Government Medical College in Nagpur”.
“I don’t expect appreciation or recognition from anybody I just did for the sake of Allah,” Khan added.
Given the grave scenario in due to the deadly virus, a sense of community has been seen throughout the country. News has come to the fore stating that Muslim men in various cities performed the last rites of Hindu Covid victims. One such example comes from Bhopal, where Danish Siddiqui and Saddam Qurashi have cremated over 60 bodies so far.
Amid all the chaos, various countries, organizations and communities have come forward and offered India help in its fight against the pandemic.
