Manoj Sinha, the new Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, in his oath-taking ceremony, today, said that his mission will be to bring peace, end militancy, and to ensure development by all means.
Manoj Sinha, who replaced GC Murmu as the second Lieutenant Governor, said that the faith in democracy has to be instilled in the people of Jammu Kashmir.
Calling Jammu and Kashmir as the heaven and crown of India, the new LG said that 5th August is a historic day and will be remembered in history.
Further adding, “I met some officers and they told me that in the past year, there has been a lot of development in all sectors. I will take forward the same process of development with a speed and vigor.”
Sinha was talking to reporters at Rajbhawan, Srinagar after taking oath as the new LG. He said “I have no specific agenda and there will be no disparity. There will be equal treatment to all. And we will work for the welfare of people of J&K. I will try on that front and I have spoken to some officers in that regard already. I will be in touch with the media too besides common people of J&K.”
Manoj Sinha became the first politician to take the position as LG, Jammu Kashmir, his predecessor, GC Murmu was a retd. IAS Officer has now been appointed as a comptroller and Auditor General (CAG).
