Massive fire engulfs Rajouri’s forest region

A massive fire broke out in several forest areas of Rajouri on Saturday, amid a heatwave in the Jammu region.

The incident comes just a few days after a fire broke out in the forest belt in the Reasi area on Thursday. The fire, which started in the district’s Marhi area and spread across many acres, trees, and other forest materials was damaged in during the fire.

Meanwhile, another forest region in the Udhampur has been on fire for the past several days. The fire that started in Daya Dhar forest region of Udhampur’s Ghordi has been going on for the past five days ago.

The forest fires in Jammu Kashmir are occurring as the region continues to experience heatwaves, which are expected to persist in the coming days, with no relief in sight for the area in May, as per India Meteorological Department (IMD).
