A massive explosion-like sound had people on their feet in South Kashmir districts of Kulgam, Pulwama, Shopian and Anantnag on Friday afternoon.
Speaking to The Kashmiriyat, a local from Pulwana township said that the walls of their house shook vigorously creating panic in the entire household.
A Security official speaking to The Kashmiriyat said that it was an air sonic that created such a massive impact which could be felt throughout the Southern Kashmir.
He denied the reports of any blast having taken place anywhere.
A sonic boom is the sound associated with the shock waves created whenever an object travels through the air faster than the speed of sound. Sonic booms generate enormous amounts of sound energy, sounding similar to an explosion or a thunderclap to the human ear.
