The bulldozers of Municipal corporation Delhi have reached Muslim-dominated Shaheen Bagh area of Delhi for an anti-encroachment drive.
However, locals in large numbers protested against the MCD’s action when they sat on roads to block bulldozers. Apart from locals, scores of political leaders and activists reached the Shaheen Bagh, which was the epicenter of anti-CAA protests.
Shaheen Bagh falls under the central zone of SDMC directly under the control of BJP Government at the centre.
Aam Aadmi Party MLA from Okhla, Amanatullah Khan, who was also present at the site, accused the BJP of disturning peace and creating enmity. He said that the saffron party is targeting a particular community and went on to claim that there was no encroachment in the area.
Meanwhile, police personnel have been deployed at the spot where the anti-encroachment drive was being carried out.
