The cases of Medical negligence are growing in the valley, after the deaths of newborns in the valley’s biggest maternity and childcare hospital in Srinagar, the Government took some initiatives to prevent deaths and succeeded in this to a large extent.

However, the crisis shifted to the other hospitals, including many district hospitals, including the biggest hospital in South Kashmir and the one in Baramulla district of North Kashmir. The last year a major case of racist violence emerged from Lal Ded which is a direct case of doctor negligence which led to the death of  a baby as the doctors refused to check a Gujjar lady.
