Jammu Kashmir police seized the residence of an over ground worker (OGW) affiliated with the Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) militant group in central Kashmir’s Budgam district on Monday.
The individual, Mohammad Ramzan Mir, was identified during the investigation of a case involving militancy-related charges.
The move came as a result of the investigation into FIR No. 05/2023, which included charges under various sections like 307-IPC, 7/27 Arms Act, 16, 19, 20, 23, 39 UA (P) Act of P/S Magam, and Unlawful Activities Prevention Act, a police spokesperson said.
The property, located in Rudbugh Magam, was found to be acquired as proceeds of terrorism and used for harboring militants.
The District Police in Budgam expressed their commitment to identifying and taking legal action against properties used for such unlawful purposes.
Dozens of houses have been attached in Jammu Kashmir for supporting “Anti-national” activities. This action is being taken under the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act. Scores of such actions are being challenged by the victims in the court of law.
