
One militant has been killed during the encounter in the Pulwama district of south Kashmir.
Official sources told The Kashmiriyat that one militant has been killed after an encounter broke out in wee hours between militants and security forces in Frasipora area of the south Kashmir district on Thursday.
As per sources the slain has been identified as Danish Aijaz Sheikh son of Aijaz Ahmad Shiekh, a resident of Alnoor cony Ellahibagh which comes under the jurisdiction of Ahmadnagar, Srinagar.
Thy said the 34-year-old was missing since 27 March 2024.
Pertinently, today’s encounter at Pulwama occurred after a hiatus of three months and five days, marking the lengthiest interval between encounters in Kashmir in over a decade.
The last encounter in Kashmir took place on January 05, 2024 at Chotigam Shopian when one militant was killed.
The slain was identified as Bilal Ahmed Bhat, a resident of Chek Cholan, affiliated with Lashkar e Taiba.
