Militants Reportedly Escape after a Brief Gunfight in Srinagar

An encounter has started between Militants and Government Forces in the Deyarwani area of Batamaloo locality  in Srinagar early morning on Sunday.

Official sources told The Kashmiriyat that CRPF, Jammu Kashmir Police and jointly launched the Anti Militancy operation.

The Encounter started when Army was fired upon by a group of Militants near the Unani Hospital in the Deyarwani area.

In the initial exchange of fire, three Government Force personnel including two CRPF Men, one Jammu Kashmir Policemen were injured while one JKP Cop was killed.

The owner of the house Mohammed Shafi was also injured in the initial exchange of gunfire.

As per the the latest reports, the firing has stopped from both the sides.

As per some news reports Naveed Jatt was trapped in the area along with his two associates.

Militants have reportedly escaped the spot, but the forces are still conducting search operations in the area and have extended the search operations to SD Colony, Ziyarat Shareef, Moomin Abad bypass road and Firdous Abad areas of Batamaloo.

Meanwhile Mobile Internet services have been snapped across Srinagar.
