Eleven days after drowning in a drain in the Srinagar city, an eleven-year-old boy succumbed to his injuries at a hospital in Srinagar.
Speaking to The Kashmiriyat, the father of the boy identified as Ahmed Bin Javed, who is a resident of Batamaloo in Srinagar said that on May 28, Ahmed slipped into a drain in the Batamaloo area.
“There is a construction work going on at the drain in the area,” he said adding that Ahmed fell into an open drain causing critical wounds to him after which he was rushed to the hospital.
A photographer by profession, his father said that Ahmed was undergoing treatment at Children’s hospital in Bemina for the last eleven days, however, he succumbed to his injuries at the hospital on Thursday afternoon.
Locals speaking to The Kashmiriyat said that they have submitted at least seven representations to the concerned department to finish the construction at the drain, however, the project has remained incomplete.
