Twenty-Five Days after, the 17-year-old daughter of Mohammed Afzal of Bilawar area of Kathua was allegedly abducted by Vijay Kumar, the family has demanded the whereabouts of their daughter.
“The SHO told me that my daughter had issued a video in which she had said that she accepted Hinduism by her own choice and was in love with a Hindu Guy,” the father said. The family has not been in touch with her since.
The family has filed a missing report with the concerned Police Station, however, there has been no clue of the girl as of yet.
Afzal, the father of the girl alleged that they approached the family of Vijay to hand over their daughter to them. “The father however was in the hospital, so he did not listen to us on the first day,” he said.
On the second day, Vijay’s father said he had no information on his son. “But we know the cellphone my daughter was using a gifted to her by Vijay’s mother, She revealed it when we confiscated the cellphone,” Mohammed Afzal said.
She is a minor aged 17, the father alleged, adding that, he had also kidnapped the girl three months back, however she was rescued three days after.
The family has appealed to the administration to help them trace their daughter.
An Activist speaking about the incident said, “we will not use any words like Love-Jihaad or attach the incident to any religion, the incident is a criminal activity and should be seen merely through that prism, nothing else.” The Kashmiriyat.
