Muslim youth lynched to death during cricket match in Gujarat

In a tragic incident in Chikhodara, Anand district of Gujarat, a young Muslim man was beaten to death during a cricket match.

Identified as Salman Hanifbhai Whora, he was beaten to death by a group of 15-20 men on Saturday.

As per reports, Salman had intervened to help his friend Shoaib, who was being assaulted by the group during a cricket tournament’s final match.

Shoiab was being attacked by Gheto Parmar and Holo Parmar when Salman tried to come to his aid, however, he was then brutally beaten with bats, sticks, and paddles, resulting in fatal injuries.

The police have said that they arrested several individuals in connection with the incident.

Mehul alias Gheto Dineshbhai Parmar, Kiran alias Holo Mafatbhai Parmar, and Mahendra alias Fulio Rameshbhai Vaghela were among those detained for their involvement in the fatal beating.

“Others arrested include Akshay alias Ako Narsinghbhai Parmar, Ratilal Raisingbhai Parmar, Vijay alias Pakorani Mangalbhai Parmar (all from Chikhodara), and Ketan Mahendrabhai Patel from Vaghasi. The police have seized various weapons, including paddles and bamboo sticks, used in the attack,” Police said.

All the accused have been produced in court, which has granted their remand until July 1st for further investigation.

Indian National Congress leaders in Gujarat visited the house of the deceased and demanded stringent punishment to the accused.
