Sandeep Kaur, the sister of Mohinderpal Singh on Saturday has said that her brother Mohinderpal Singh, a resident of Kashmir, who was arrested in New Delhi, the last month has been arrested for running a Langar Seva.

Speaking to The Kashmiriyat Sandeep, who lives in New Delhi said that the three youth, who were just doing Langar Sewa were caught and sent to jail, and later falsely accused and tagged as ‘terrorists’.

She said that Mohinderpal Singh, Luvpreet Singh and Gurtej Singh were brought before court (Judge ASJ Dharmender Rana) on Friday via video conferencing.

Currently, Mohinderpal Singh has been lodged at the Tihar Jail, while as Luvpreet and Gurtej Singh have been kept at Mandoli Jail,  “Nothing came forth in the hearing on 7th August. The copy of registered FIR-(154/20) has not been provided yet but as per information received they were accused under Arms Act, Section 24, 54, 59 and later UAPA sec- 13,18,20 & 120B & 201 were added,” Paramjeet Singh, the Lawyer representing them said.

Sandeep Kour speaking to The Kashmiriyat said that Mohinderpal Singh who had come to Delhi to study, from Kashmir ,is a very warm hearted and a kind person, always ready to help people.

“Mohinderpal Singh didn’t return home till late night on June 15, and the family started searching for him & at around 1-2 am, Gurpreet called home and told that Rohini Police special cell has detained them,” Sandeep said, adding, “When we reached there the special cell people told us that they have been taken in for mere questioning but later they released Gurpreet and put FIR on Mohinderpal Singh.”

Though Gurpreet Singh was released in two days, but Mohinderpal Singh was booked under Arms Act and two more Gursikhs from Haryana & Punjab were detained and booked in same case.

Mohinderpal Singh, as reported by The Kashmiriyat earlier is a professional tabla Vadak and was doing sewa for a local Gurudwara and in mean time during this Covid- pandemic he was involved into langar sewa for almost 500 people on daily basis.

Sikh community should definitely wake up against such atrocities, She said.

Sandeep Kour has appealed before Sikh Leadership from Delhi and Punjab to come forward to help these innocent Sikh youth so that they may not rot and spend their precious lives in jails for crimes they have never committed.
