After losing both her parents in a span of one month while her exams were going on, Insha, daughter of militant Zahoor Ahmad Lone who was killed on December 18, has secured a distinction in her 12th board exams.
Insha also lost her mother to a heart attack within a month of the killing of her father.
“When his audio saying that he has joined the militant outfit went viral, my exams were going on. I had my physics paper that day,” Insha told Free Press Kashmir.
Then within a month, my mother passed away of heart attack because she could not handle the grief. I had finished my exams, and was preparing for my practicals that time,” she says.
“I had set a target of 480 out of 500, but I didn’t even have my books then, they were still in a place where another gunfight had taken place, so my preparation got affected,” she says.
“I was under a lot of mental stress. I could have done better but I happy and I thank Allah for this too,” she told Free Press Kashmir.
“Before he had released the audio and was missing, I used to study at my neighbours place because there was so much stress at home,” says Insha, adding that she plans to prepare for her NEET exams and hopes to excel in them.
Zahoor had joined Hizbul Mujahideen militant outfit in November and several of his audio clips had gone viral on social media.
In one of the audio clips, Zahoor was heard praising his wife and appealing the armed forces to not involve his family members in his decision of joining militancy.
Within a month, Rozy Jaan, wife of Zahoor, passed away due to a heart attack.
Family members had told Free Press Kashmir that Rozy had complained of chest pain and was subsequently shifted to District Hospital Pulwama where doctors declared her ‘brought dead’.
