Omar Abdullah, the former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, has been officially nominated by the Jammu Kashmir National Conference (JKNC) to contest from the Ganderbal constituency in the upcoming assembly polls.
The JKNC has announced a comprehensive list of candidates for various key constituencies in central Kashmir and other regions. Ali Mohammad Sagar will be contesting from Khanyar, while Salman Ali Sagar has been nominated for Hazratbal. Mian Mehar Ali will represent the party in Kangan (ST), and Shameema Firdous will contest from Habba Kadal. Ahsan Pardesi has been chosen for the Lal Chowk constituency, and Mushtaq Guroo will run for the Chanapora seat. In Zadibal, Tanvir Sadiq has been nominated, and Mubarak Gul will be the candidate for Eidgah.
In the Khan Sahib constituency, Saif-Ud-Din Bhat will contest for JKNC, while Abdul Raheem Rather will represent Char-I-Sharief. Ali Mohammad Dar has been nominated for Chadoora, and Er. Khursheed will contest from Gulab Ghar (ST). Yashu Vardhan Singh has been selected for Kalakote/Sunderbani, and Surinder Chowdary will be the candidate for Nowshera. Javid Chowdary will contest from Budhal (ST), while Ajaz Ahmad Jan has been nominated for Poonch Haveli, and Javid Rana for Mendhar (ST).
In the northern regions, Javid Mirchal will represent Karnah, with Mir Saifullah contesting in Trehgam and Nasir Aslam Wani (Sogami) in Kupwara. Qaiser Jamsheed Lone has been selected for Lolab, while Chowdary Mohammad Ramzan will contest in Handwara. Irshad Rasool Kar has been nominated for Sopore, and Javid Ahmad Dar for Rafiabad. Dr. Sajad Shafi Uri will contest in Uri, and Javid Hussain Beigh has been chosen for Baramulla.
Farooq Ahmad Shah will run for Tangmarg, and Javid Reyaz Bedar for Pattan. In Sonawari, Hilal Akbar Lone has been nominated, and Nazir Ahmad Gurezi will represent Gurez (ST).
Finally, Ajay Kumar Sadhotra has been selected as the candidate for Jammu North.
