Nearly 1000 Israeli Settlers Storm into Joseph’s Tomb in Nablus; 5 Palestinians Injured While Protesting the Raid

On Monday night, nearly a thousand Israeli Settlers raided Joseph’s Tomb, east of Nablus in the occupied West Bank.

As per a report by Quds News Network, a number of buses protected by the Israeli forces, carrying a thousand settlers raided the tomb during the night.

The Palestinians believe that Joseph’s Tomb is the burial site for the local religious figure, Sheikh Yousef Dweikat and on the other hand the Israeli settlers claim that it belonged to the Biblical patriarch Joseph.

In order to provoke the Palestinian residents, the Israeli settlers performed Talmudic prayers.

Almost five Palestinian residents who protested the raid by the settlers and tried blocking them from entering the site were injured after they were shot by Israeli forces with rubber-coated bullets and tear gas.

The Quds News Network reported that their journalist and reporter, Abdallah Bahsh, was also among the injured while he was covering the settlers’ raid.

Every now and then, the Israeli settlers storm into Islamic sites under the protection of the Settler forces and impede the Muslim worshippers’ activities.
