As the Kashmir University issued new notice to the third and fourth semester students of batch 2018 to pay admission fee of 50% which was waived off during Covid – 19, as per the students.
The students alleged that how can they ask parents again for the fee, as they had already paid it during the pandemic of Covid – 19.
Biochemistry student from Kashmir University Nazir Ahmad ( name with held) told The Kashmiriyat over phone and said, ” Now University authorities have issued another half of admission fee notification for 3rd-4th semester students. This is injustice for all of us.”
It’s pertinent to here that Central University of Kashmir had also waived-off 20% of the admission fee of their students when the deadly coronavirus was spreading like a wild fire in the valley. And so far, they have not directed the students to pay their second spell of fee, which had already been waived-off.
“During lockdown lieutenant Governor had directed University via notice to waive-off the fee dues, after which Vice Chancellor (VC) allowed us to pay half and rest will be relaxed, ”
Nazir Ahmad said.
The students alleged that the University authorities are playing with their mental health. ” How can they demand their parents again and again for hefty fee amounts to fill the pockets of these capitalists,?” Ahmad questioned.
In regarding to all of this, when The Kashmiriyat contacted the Register of Kashmir University Dr. Nisar Ahmad he said, “When the pressure was mounting upon us during Covid – 19, we asked the students to pay 50%, rest we will decide accordingly. ”
“It’s not only the matter of Kashmir University there are many universities in Jammu Kashmir, almost all the universities have provided their data to the administration and they will take final call about this issue,” the Kashmir University Register said.
