The National Investigation Agency of India on Thursday carried out raids in Awantipora area of Pulwama district in South Kashmir and have arrested a man.
Sources told The Kashmiriyat that a team of NIA carried the raids in Khanday Pora in Awantipora area and searched the house of the man, Hilal Ahmad Wagay who is a truck driver.
Hilal had been attested in April this year in Punjab with Rs 29 lakh cash. The case was taken over by the NIA.
The NIA had registered a case in June last year and filed the first charge sheet against 15 people in December the same year.
The NIA spokesman had said in the statement that an investigation into a drug case had led to the fact that Pakistan-based militant organisations were using narcotic trade to generate funds for militant activities in India.
The NIA had also said that the narcotics trade is run by Pakistan in Kashmir through couriers and hawala channel for militancy purposes.
