NIA summons zipline operator after tourist’s video on Pahalgam attack

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) and Jammu Kashmir Police have summoned the zipline operator after a tourist accidentally recorded the Pahalgam terror attack while ziplining, India Today reported.

The attack, which took place in the Baisaran area of Pahalgam, claimed the lives of 26 tourists and sent shockwaves through the valley.

The tourist, who later reviewed the footage upon returning to Ahmedabad, revealed a chilling detail: just moments before the gunfire began, the zipline operator, as per Indian media, can be heard saying “Allah Hu Akbar”. (God is great), a phrase many Kashmiris and Muslims often repeat.

The video quickly went viral, becoming a focal point of Indian TV coverage and social media discourse. Several channels and users controversially fixated on the phrase “Allah Hu Akbar,” turning it into a subject of heated debate.

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) officially took over the investigation into the Pahalgam terror attack on April 26, 2025.

This development followed an order from the Ministry of Home Affairs, prompted by the gravity of the incident in which 26 tourists were killed.

The attack was claimed by The Resistance Front (TRF), a proxy of the Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba.

The NIA had been assisting the Jammu Kashmir Police since April 23, a day after the attack, before formally registering a fresh FIR and assuming full control of the probe .
