On 18th of September, a 30-year-old, Zaid Nazir from Kanpur donated plasma after recovering from Covid-19 in Hailet Hospital of Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh.

Around 9 pm on 17 Sept, Nazir got a call from an unknown number, asking if he was COVID positive. He said yes, While on the call the lady said that her father is in need of plasma as he is on a ventilator and doctors are saying if they could get plasma, chances of recovering would be 95%. She said they got his number from the CMO office.

Zaid spoke to The Kashmiriyat and said, “I got a little nervous but after having a discussion with my family doctor I was on it. And then I was asked to come to Hailet Hospital Kanpur. As it is the only hospital that has a machine to separate plasma from the blood.”

Around 12 pm, Nazir reached the hospital where he found the family. He said, “Their hands were folded in front of me and I was a little uncomfortable because for me it was like an opportunity to save someone’s life. They were extremely happy and as soon as arrived they said that you don’t even know us nor our names then too you are here to help like an angel”.

He said, “I was not perfectly fit and suffered weakness but that was a small thing for me. After giving plasma they were very – very thankful to me with tears in their eyes”.

Zaid tells The Kashmiriyat, “That was the time when I discovered they were Hindus and I felt happier because of it. I came here as a human being and did my task accordingly”.

He further added, “The patient’s son said that this is the happiest day of his life. And the lady who called me was the patient’s daughter said that I can’t thank you as it would be quite low but like an elder sister, I will give you all my blessings”, after hearing this I was on cloud nine.

“At this time no one asked me about my religion to save a life neither did I ask them about the patient’s religion so it’s clearly visible humanity is on the top. No religion teaches hate, it is we who bring differences. And I’ll keep donating plasma every 15 days for the sake of Humanity”, he said.

He added that the lady’s father was admitted in Air force hospital, in Kanpur, where they have to go after collecting plasma.
