A cordon and search operation has been launched in the Tangpawa area of Sagam in Kokernag belt in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district.
Official sources told The Kashmiriyat that 19 RR of the Indian Army, and Jammu Kashmir Police jointly launched a cordon and search operation in the Tangpawa area, following inputs about the militant presence in the area.
A search operation was going on in the area when this report was being filed.
Pertinently, Tangpawa in Kokernag is the native of the longest surviving militant commander Mohammed Ashraf Khan alias Molvi, who is an associate of Hizb ul Mujahideen.
