Residents of several villages in Kupwara district in north Kashmir hit the streets against the PDD department alleging that the Department was not providing electricity to several areas as per the winter schedule.
Eyewitnesses told The Kashmiriyat that on Wednesday morning, residents of Qalamabad, Adura, Warpora Drangsoo, Prangroo and its adjacent villages hit the streets demanding stoppage of unscheduled curtailment in power supply.
During the protest, the angry protesters chanting slogans against the PDD department alleged that they are suffering due to the non-availability of proper electricity but ironically the concerned department is in deep slumber.
Meanwhile, DDC member Mawer Khurshid Ahmad Dar assured them to bring their grievance to the notice of higher authorities after which the protesters dispersed peacefully.
