Non-Local Drug Peddler Arrested in Kulgam: Police

The Jammu Kashmir Police on Tuesday claimed that they arrested a drug peddler in the Quimoh area of south Kashmir’s Kulgam district.

In a press release, the Police said, that a Police Party of Police Station Quimoh established a Naka at Redwani and during Naka checking one person namely Ruman Kumar son of Bal Kishan, a resident of Sundernagar Husharpur moving in a suspicious manner was signaled to stop, but after noticing Police party he tried to flee from the spot.

He was chased and apprehended tactfully. During his personal search, 50 Kg of Poppy Straw & 01 Kg of Charas was recovered from his possession, the Police stated.

Regarding the incident case with FIR NO. 01/2021 U/S 8/15,8/20 & 8/29 of NDPS Act stands registered in Police Station Quimoh and investigation has been taken up.

“The public is requested to come forward and extend cooperation to Police and any information regarding anti-social activity may be shared with Police so that timely action can be taken against the culprits,” the Jammu Kashmir Police said in its press release.
