‘Officials should provide answers’, says Omar Abdullah on missing Kupwara youth

The former Chief Minister of Jammu Kashmir and National Conference Vice President Wednesday lashed out at the admin’s recent order calling for the removal of occupants of the state land.

Speaking to the media he said that before the removal of any property at any spot, the admin should prove that the land should not belong to any particular occupant. “All these orders are aimed at harassing Kashmiris, they want to deviate the attention from their constant failures on security,” Omar Abdullah said.

The former CM further said the Roshni scheme was never rejected by anyone and “taking away” the land provided to people under the Government scheme will be tantamount to betraying people.

Seeking an immediate answer on the youth (Abdul Rashid Dar), who allegedly went missing from Army’s custody on December 15, 2022, from Kupwara, Omar Abdullah said, “The officials should provide answers. The youth has been missing for more than a month now. If any untoward incident has occurred with Rashid, the officials should put the facts in the public domain.”

Commenting on the inclusion of controversial Jammu-based leader, Chowdhary Lal Singh in the Bharat Jodo Yatra, Omar Abdullah said that Congress should ensure that Bharat Jodo Yatra will not be used by any leader to whitewash themselves.

The then BJP member, Chowdhary Lal Singh had taken out a rally in Jammu after the infamous Rajouri rape in defense of the accused and also demanded the case be handed over to the CBI.
