On Dusshera, Mob lynches muslim man to death in Uttar Pradesh

Tensions flared in Uttar Pradesh’s Hapur district after a tragic incident resulting in the loss of a man’s life.

This incident, allegedly triggered by a motorcycle collision, led to a fatal altercation between two groups, resulting in critical head injuries to the victim, identified as Irshad.

Despite a strong police presence, tensions persisted throughout the night.

The Superintendent of Police in Hapur, Abhishek Verma, provided details of the incident, stating that the police received information about Irshad’s injuries near Luhari Market.

Bahadurgarh Police promptly responded, rushing Irshad to a local Community Health Center (CHC). Tragically, he did not survive his injuries during treatment.

The initial investigation indicated that Irshad ‘s motorcycle collided with a vehicle after which he was beaten with rods and weapons, by a group of men leading to Irshad’s critical head injuries.

Superintendent Verma assured that the situation in the village was now under control.

This unfortunate incident emphasizes the significance of peaceful conflict resolution and the necessity for communities to come together during times of tragedy.

On the same day, a separate incident occurred in Uttar Pradesh’s Mahoba district during a Durga idol immersion procession, where a clash ensued between two groups from different communities.

Local police swiftly brought the situation under control in the Srinagar area of the district, detaining three individuals.

The clash reportedly happened as the procession passed through the Srinagar area, with participants playfully throwing colored powder, known as ‘gulaal,’ at each other.

Accidentally affecting a member of another community with the colored powder led to objections and a physical altercation.

Mahoba’s Superintendent of Police, Aparna Gupta, confirmed that there was no major law and order issue, and legal measures were being taken to address the situation.

The procession later continued peacefully, and the Durga idol was immersed as originally planned.
