One More Jaish Militant Killed in Ongoing Baramulla Encounter- Toll 2

Two Militants have been killed during the encounter that started early morning on Thursday between militants and Government forces in Wanigam area of Baramulla district in Kashmir.

An official confirming the exchange of gunfire to The Kashmiriyat said that 29 Rashtriya Rifles of Indian Army, Jammu Kashmir Police and CRPF had jointly laid a siege in Wanigam area of Baramulla.

He said that the cordon was laid after the forces had received a tip-off about Militant movements in the area.

As soon as the forces launched the searches, the Militants opened fire on them to which the forces responded, after which the Militants fled from the spot.

During the search operations of nearly eight hours, the hiding militants again opened fire, and during this exchange of gunfire two Militants were killed, who are yet to be identified.

The official said that one of the slain is a top commander of Jaish e Muhammad.

One more Militant is believed to be trapped at the site of the encounter, the searches are still on to trace the Militant.
