The body of a minor, who allegedly committed suicide by jumping into river jehlum in north Kashmir’s Sopore area last week, was retrieved from Jehlum on Wednesday morning.
Locals told The Kashmiriyat a 14-year-old boy Shahid Nazir Changal, son of Nazir Ahmad Changal of Ahad Bab crossing in Sopore jumped into the river from Sopore bypass bridge on 21 October.
The joint team of Sopore Police, SDRF, Marco’s, Army and local boat men continued the search operation for the past one week and retrieved the body from Jhelum river this morning
A Police official said that the body was taken to the hospital for legal formalities.
