Online threat to Journalists: Raids underway at multiple locations in Kashmir

The Jammu Kashmir police on Thursday carried out searches at various locations in three districts of the Valley in connection with “online threat” to journalists.

In a  tweet, the Jammu Kashmir Police said that raids were being conducted in Srinagar, Budgam, and Pulwama districts.

The searches were subsequent to the leads received from searches done a few days ago in the same case, Police said.

“Searches are going on in multiple locations in Srinagar, Badgam, and Pulwama districts in connection with the ‘online journalists threat’ case. This is subsequent to the leads received from searches done a few days ago in the same case,” police tweeted.

Earlier Jammu Kashmir Police had raided several locations across Kashmir which included the houses of several journalists in Anantnag and Srinagar.

Meanwhile, in a separate raid, an SIA team is conducting a raid at Hefkuri in the Zainapora area of Shopian district in the house of Mushtaq Ahmad Thoker son of Ghulam Hassan Thoker who is the husband of DDC Member Yasmeena Akhter from the Apni Party.

An official speaking to The Kashmiriyat confirmed the raid in Shopian’s Heffkuri area.
