Journalists acting in a manner prejudicial to the country’s “security, sovereignty and integrity” as well as “public order, decency or morality” will lose their Government accreditation, the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has said in its new guidelines. The Central Media Accreditation Guidelines-2022, announced on Monday, also lays down guidelines for the accreditation of journalists working for online news platforms. News aggregators are not being considered for accreditation, the Government said. Jammu Kashmir police on Monday claimed to have recovered a kidnapped girl (minor) from Udhampur and said that the accused involved in kidnapping has also been arrested. Amid light snowfall in upper reaches, mercury drops in Kashmir

While upper reaches including Gulmarg and Pahalgam received fresh light snowfall while rains lashed plains, night temperature recorded a drop at most places in Kashmir Valley on Tuesday, officials said. A meteorological department official here told GNS that Srinagar, the summer capital of the J&K, had 0.7mm of rainfall during the last 24 hours till 0830 hours today and recorded a low of 1.4°C against last night’s 2.2°C, he said. Seven injured in Rajouri accident

At least seven passengers travelling in a bus were injured after an ill-fated vehicle skidded off the road and fell into a gorge in Ramban district on Tuesday. According to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the accident of bus bearing registration number JK02A-3187 took place at Thangrote in Teryath tehsil of Rajouri district. Seven passengers were injured in the accident who include Jameet Singh, Sushma Devi, Supria Devi, Jameer Singh, Sukhdev Singh, Shashi kumari and Kamal Singh.
