Tehsildar Chanapora laments fake propaganda, demands action against man responsible for it

The office of the Tehsildar Chanapora has refuted the allegations of absenteeism and corruption in the Tehsil Office Chanapora in Summer Capital Srinagar.

Tehsildar Chanapora has written to Deputy Commissioner Srinagar refuting the allegations levelled against the Office in viral videos and a news report published in a newspaper.

While throwing light on the allegations, the Office of the Tehsildar Chanapora in a communique to Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, a copy of which lies with news agency Kashmir Dot Com (KDC) has stated that the allegations made by a ‘self-styled’ Journalist (name withheld) are false, frivolous and without an iota of truth.

“The allegations in print and fake propaganda on social media have been propagated in the furtherance of a nefarious design of a person (responsible for fake propaganda) to obtain legal heir certificate from this office by falsely claiming as the only surviving legal heir of his deceased father-a claim far from the truth.”

“The man in question moved an application on 11 January to obtain legal heir certificate stating therein that he is the sole legal heir of his deceased father namely Abdul Rashid Dijoo who expired on 28/8/2019. The application was marked on the same day to Naib Tehsildar and Patwari Halqa for verification and report.”

The applicant produced a letter from President Intizamia Committee Masjid Umar (RA) wherein it was stated that it is commonplace knowledge that the father of the applicant divorced his spouse long back and the father-son duo lived here.

In order to substantiate his false claim applicant produced a copy of the affidavit duly sworn before the Judicial Magistrate of First Class wherein it was stated that the deceased father of the applicant had divorced his spouse 40 years back and thereafter never married again and brought him as a single parent from infancy. He further stated that he has no knowledge about other legal heirs.

The applicant as per the office of the Tehsildar had claimed that he gave a wide publicity of this matter through newspapers but he failed to provide any cutting before the office when asked.

“On the strength of the false and fabricated documents, the applicant started harassing and abusing the Tehsil officials to process and issue a legal heir certificate in his favor as sole legal heir.”

During verification by Naib Tehsildar Sanat Nagar, an application was received by Patwari Halqa and the brother of the applicant namely Dr Arjamund Rashid with the request that while processing any document for legal heir certificate, his mother and sister be also included. The mother of the applicant also intimated that though she lived separately from her husband, she was never divorced by him.

The office of the Tehsildar said that the applicant used all illegal means to get the legal heir certificate and when he failed, he resorted to fake propaganda, defaming a law-abiding government servant.

Tehsildar Chanapora has pitched for necessary legal action against the said person. (KDC)
