Shopian Encounter: One Militant Killed, Operation on

Meer Irfan One militant has been killed during the ongoing encounter between militants and Government forces at Nadigam area of South Kashmir's Shopian district. Earlier an official confirming the exchange of gunfire said that on Tuesday morning RR of the Indian Army, CRPF and Jammu Kashmir Police after receiving inputs about the Militant presence in the area laid a cordon and search operation in the Shopian area. The hiding Militants opened fire on the troopers triggering an encounter, during which one militant was killed, officials said. As per initial reports available to The Kashmiriyat two to three militants were trapped in the area.
