Proposal seeking PIB approval under process: Centre The Government of India on Monday disclosed that a proposal seeking approval of the public investment board (PIB) for metrolite projects of Jammu & Srinagar is under process. As per news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), in a document titled implementation of budget announcements of 2021-22, the Union Finance Ministry revealed that the proposal seeking approval of PIB for these two projects is under process. Dist Admin Pulwama orders inquiry on alleged medical negligence leading to the death of a patient

Taking serious note of the alleged medical negligence leading to the death of Mohammad Hussain Hafiz, an employee of MC Pulwama who reportedly died due to cardiac arrest in the District Hospital on 31 January 2022, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Pulwama, Baseer Ul Haq Choudhary today ordered the constitution of an inquiry committee for investigating the matter. While taking the cognizance of the matter, the DC said that an inquiry has been initiated to ascertain the veracity of medical negligence on the part of doctors and staff on duty. Jammu and Kashmir reported 2751 covid-19 cases, up by 201 from yesterday, even as nine persons succumbed to the virus in the last 24-hours, officials said on Tuesday. They said 1105 of the fresh cases were confirmed from Jammu Division and 1646 from Kashmir Valley, taking the total count to 438176. Regarding the fresh fatalities, the officials told GNS that four among them were reported from Jammu division and five from Kashmir valley. So far 4683 people have died due to the virus—2289 in Jammu and 2394 in Kashmir Valley. In view of decline in Covid-19 cases since last few days, the authorities at SKIMS Soura have decided to resume OPD services from tomorrow. "In the interest of patient care and keeping in view plateauing of COVID wave in Kashmir, it is hereby ordered that the functioning of SKIMS OPD will resume from Wednesday i.e. 2nd February 2022," reads the order issued by Medical Superintendent SKIMS Farooq A Jan, a copy of which lies with the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO).
